Create Your Own Cookbook Shelf!

I live is a very small house, as such storage is at a premium.  I like to dabble in cooking for myself and my friends and family.  I also have several cookbooks that have been given to me, but where to store all those cookbooks?  The space behind my backdoor is a space that isn't used much so I created a cookbook shelf using this half crate from Home Depot (I went recently and didn't see it in stores anymore but check your Home Depot paint aisle anyway, you never know).
I spray painted the shelf a color that matches my kitchen decor, and then screwed it into the wall.  If you are screwing it into a stud you are all set, if not I recommend using drywall anchors since there will be some weight involved in storing your cookbooks.  If you don't have wall space, another great area to store cookbooks is in a crate on top of your refrigerator or on the top shelf in your pantry where you have some spare space.  You can spray-paint the crate to match your kitchen or decoupage it with some artwork or designs that you like, it could even be tiled to match a backsplash.

I have linked some crates below from Amazon that would work great to make a cookbook shelf or to store your cookbooks in on your countertop.  Happy fall cooking!

While I make a small percentage on sales used through my code, these are items I have used and trust.  I use them in my home or everyday life, and no amount of commission is worth compromising your trust.  Happy shopping!
